We are so excited to announce that our eco-friendly and recycled products are made! Our manufacturer has been great to work with. We've have learned a ton about processes and expectations from them and they have been patient and transparent through this process. 

Shipping has been a bit of an unexpected obstacle as we are learning the customs process. Some of you have reached out and expressed some frustration. We too are frustrated that it is now October and our products aren’t in your hands, going on WALKs with your best friends. We are learning and growing through this process and that can be paired with growing pains. We’ve recently learned that US Customs paperwork was lacking and now that it has been submitted, we are waiting for the go, to ship our products here to Colorado. Once we are given the go-ahead to move forward with US Customs it will take a month to arrive here in Colorado.

We want to thank you all for all the kind words and messages you send. Also thank you for your feedback we know that is how we learn.  And most importantly thank you for believing in what we are creating and for WALKing on this journey with us. We are hopeful and optimistic that the products are coming to you within this month or at the beginning of November and every dog lover will want to have one of these amazing products for their dog for the holiday.

In other news...

The WALK women have taken to trails to help clean up some of the other dogs "duty" we find along our WALKs. We are working to inspire our neighbors and supporters to see that we can all make a positive impact every day.

Shipping timeline, Production update, Hats are in!

BACKERS!

We know, it’s been a while. Our humble apologies for the delayed update. Behind the scenes we have been really busy and anxious.

The hats are in! We have worked with the good people over at Richardson Hats. We know you all are going to love this cap when you are out for your WALK.

Leash, collar, and waste bag update. Our manufacture will have all three of these items ready to go in about two weeks! We are working the shipping from overseas and learning how customs work. Our original plan A was to ship by plane, but because of the pandemic shipping by air costs have gone up drastically. So now we are moving to plan B, shipping by boat. This will take 28-30 days for the product to arrive here in Colorado. Then for the exciting part for us, we fulfill your orders and send them out to you!!! Let’s break that down on a timeline:

September 7-11  Manufacture will be done with production for leashes, collars and waste bags

September 11- October 2  WALK Products will travel on a boat and arrive at WALK headquarters in Colorado, AKA our basement

October 3-9 WALK women will fulfill all orders and get them in the mail!

Please note... we are planning on using USPS (United States Postal Services) because you can’t beat their prices. As we have such small margins its important that we go with the most cost-effective methods. Just the last couple of months they have had some real delays. We know this because the father of our home also runs a small business and is experiencing some frustration with them. We are hoping all these hiccups and slowdowns are corrected in the next month as we are trying to do our part expressing our frustration. What I am trying to say…. Thank you for your patience and we hope the post office is quick and reliable like we have experienced in the past using them.

Shipping updates and some of the fun we've been doing

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work out all of the manufacturing details.

Great news, WALK is continuing to take steps forward.  We received word that August 30 the leashes and collars will be ship ready to come to WALK headquarters in Colorado! Our team is working hard on so many moving parts and we can’t wait for y’all to have your WALK gear! We are working on prices to determine how the leashes will ship, either by boat or plane.

In other news, we took our first road trip with Wednesday, and brought the Native Grey Re-WALK dog leash prototype. We are loving this dog leash now more than ever. As we made frequent stops for potty breaks it has been so helpful to have the attached duty bag for easy cleanup. We have used the opening handle feature to attach her to a post at the pool so she could be with us and not try any Houdini disappearing tricks on our family's 15-acre property. Wednesday is crazy fast and can get really excited about bird scouting and we are currently working with her on commands but she’s not always great at coming back to us, yet. We’ve also have been able to enjoy some of our favorite trails in Waco’s Cameron Park. We were able to use the hands-free option for the run. Fun Fact that’s the park our second daughter is named after.

The WALK little woman team have been working hard each week on creating short videos that really show off their personalities and hope to bring some education and fun to all our WALK friends.

News from our manufacturer, Wednesday paddleboarding & strength testing the carabiner

Here’s the good news… after lots of work and a couple (ok more than a couple) of hang-ups we have located a great carabiner. The not so great news is the factory has a lead time of 45 days. This news is pretty devastating for us. First, we went with this company because it was our understanding these were off the shelf carabiners, making the process quick and smooth for assembling of the leash. Second, it pushes our delivery date out.  I know that these things do happen in manufacturing, but it is definitely disappointing because these hang-ups impact you, our supporters. At the end of the day, we’d like to think of the glass half full and keep our focus on the positive and how exciting this process is seeing our product coming to life!

 We feel its a priority to be open and transparent. As we have moved further in production original price quotes have changed. Our plan was to sell the Re-WALK leash for $27.00, unfortunately, we will have to bump that up to $30.00. However, this will not impact you we are just keeping you informed. We have also started a campaign on I fund women for pre-orders and with a goal to raise 5K to help with business expenses and added cost for product. Please share the project and spread the word. We are working closely with our manufacture to create a timeline so you will know when to expect your WALK gear. 

This last week we took Wednesday to the reservoir to celebrate Cameron's birthday! We are happy to report she is a great swimmer and seemed to enjoy the day and warmed up to the idea of being on a paddleboard. For safety reasons, we kept her close to the shallow water until we find a great life vest for her. Send us your recommendations if you have one you love.

Last call for order updates!

The last day to make final updates to your order is June 1. 

After this date, we will lock your reward selections and charge cards for add-on item purchases, pledge upgrades, and pre-orders. You can update your shipping address up until we lock addresses for shipping.

If you haven’t answered your survey yet, if you fill out your BackerKit survey or pay for extra shipping after the June 1st order due date, we’ll still receive your information but your shipment may be delayed.
