Latest Updates from Our Project:

Fully Funded, Adoption, & Earth Day is coming up!
about 4 years ago – Mon, Apr 20, 2020 at 05:11:29 PM

 FULLY FUNDED!

YOU made this possible! We can't thank our Kickstarter community enough.

We are so excited to celebrate with you! This also means we will adopt our foster dog, Wednesday! We have loved working with Mile High GSP Rescue

Our focus now is to get those stretch goal items unlocked for you!

When we hit 12K every backer for a leash, will receive a free roll of our DUTY BAGS. They are made with a cornstarch mix so they will breakdown over a two year time and no longer be in a landfill for 20+ years (for a typical plastic bag).

Check out this beautiful collar, it will be unlocked for you to add-on at the end of our campaign. Collars will be available in all three design prints.

Ever wondered how many plastic bottles make up a leash? We did… according to our factory, the weight of the webbing correlating with the weight of plastic bottles can help determine the number of bottles recovered and repurposed. We understand not all plastic bottles are the same weight or thickness, but this gives a good estimate. Our 6ft leash = 8-10 bottles.

Earth Day is coming up and on our past updates, we have highlighted other projects that are also trying to recycle, reuse, and repose materials to better our planet. How are you planning to celebrate? Consider supporting some of these great projects in our SHOW & SHARE section. And of course, share our campaign with your friends in celebration of EarthDay!

Thanks,

Update!

“In every day there are 1,440 minutes. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact.” -Les Brown

I am not sure who Les Brown is, I will be looking him up, but I am inspired by his quote! When we first began this journey our plan never saw a global pandemic coming. Like so many families we have been deeply impacted but because of you, we have great hope. What keeps us going is our business and this Kickstarter. Our hope is that we can be a light to all. A place where folks can see the youth among us learning how to build a business built on common, earth responsible principals and purpose.  WALK was built to make a positive impact every minute of every day, all 1,440 of them, for our pets and the planet.

I know many of you are busy and trying to navigate during this pandemic but if you are reaching out to friends and family and you believe in us please take a minute to share our campaign with others. WE NEED YOU! Let’s give this campaign a boost. On our end, we will continue to work hard reaching out to our contacts, media, bloggers, and cross-promoting.

Here are the ways you can help…

1- Spread the word about our campaign- a) send a text message with the link, b) email with the link or c) share on your social media with a link.  If you happen to be a Facebook ninja marketer and looking for pro-bono business or willing to share your knowledge, we would love to work and learn from you.

2- Comment on our home page of our Kickstarter. Give us your feedback. Commenting on these updates is also very helpful to us.

3- Share leads you may have for media, or pet shops that might carry our product.

COLLARS are being added to our stretch goals. We are currently working on pricing so hang tight for that update! Homeschooling at our home has included a lot of courses on entrepreneurship and running a crowdfunding campaign. Thank you all for BELIEVING in us!

Stay healthy and safe,

Noelle

Say NO to disposable plastic combs and plant a forest in the process. Green Beard Grooming is a beard company rooted in reforestation – Unfortunately, giving back is a novel concept for the men's grooming industry. New designs for our webbing!
about 4 years ago – Fri, Apr 03, 2020 at 09:08:35 PM

Hey Kickstarter awesome backers!

Hope everyone is staying healthy, safe and not going to stir crazy during this time of COVID 19. I really feel blessed to have the ability to reach out to so many folks and present our products to the world. This business has really helped keep our spirits up and kept us engaged in positive work.

Our exciting news this week is ....we’ve been able to make some design changes! This was an unexpected and delightsome event for us this week. We got our creative juices flowing. Our goal to have multiple printed options was down the road, as we have had several requests for more design options. After a few meetings with our factory for webbing, we are able to get a comparable price for patterns. So, we went right to work on our designs.

New webbing print designs

Like everything we do, there’s a story behind it!

You may not know but our mountain mix webbing matches the Rocky Mountain license plate here in Colorado.

The grey webbing design is inspired by my daughter's heritage (being part Native American) and they developed this pattern with a bit of my (their mother's) input. I added an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic for woman,  as an homage to being woman-owned.  Hope you all love this design as much as we do!

The red webbing design is a Topo pattern of a section of the Colorado Trail that my husband and I ran 30 miles last year! I love the Colorado Trail and all its beauty. It’s a subtle part of who we are and the places we love.

I think that they both turned out great. The red being more on the subtle side and the grey makes me happy being a little louder! I've added an image from the factory and waiting on red samples and can't wait to see how that one turns out. These three designs will be the options you will have to select from once the campaign ends.

Samples made at the factory

Let us know which design you love most and why!

Thanks!

We are over the halfway mark! Stretch goals announced!
about 4 years ago – Tue, Mar 31, 2020 at 06:54:46 AM

We are just over halfway there! Literally we are jumping for JOY over here and with a bit more help to get us landed at our goal of 10,500. Just think if each one of you found 1 other person to back our campaign we’d be fully funded!

During this tough time, our hearts really go out to all of you that are first responders and medical staff. We happen to have a box of N95 masks, (my husband would use for woodworking) that we dropped off for a local neighbor/doctor. We got to test out the hat and the newly sewn           Re-WALK dog leash (mountain mix) out on our WALK/Run today with Wednesday, our foster dog. We strongly believe that we all have something we can do to give back to our community, and when we give, we make a BIG impact! We've also reached out to dog non-profit shelters and rescues to donate leashes to them. If you have a shelter that you love please share with us.

N95 Mask delivery

Just as promised, here's our stretch goals!

12k Every backer of a leash gets a free Duty Bag roll!

15k We will offer performance wicking hats from recycled plastic bottles once the campaign ends you can add to your pledge! It's pretty fantastic and for you all we will offer it for $12.00. (Retail $25)

20k Short-WALK leash. Sometimes it's nice to have a smaller leash or spare leash in your go-bag. This leash is all about keeping it simple and is made from recycled P.E.T. Add this at the end of the campaign for a great deal of $12.00. (Retail $18.00).

Stay healthy, safe and keep sharing your feedback! It truly keeps us going!

100 backers! Thank you for your support!
about 4 years ago – Mon, Mar 30, 2020 at 12:20:51 PM

Yup, the girls went nuts and made a Rube Goldberg 100 backer celebration contraption!

If you watch the 12-second video, all of that screaming is for you!

We love our Kickstarter community! Your words of encouragement and suggestions really mean so much to us.

Here are a couple of questions/suggestions we received:

1. If I do not own a dog and still want to support your campaign, can you offer any type of reward?

2. Will you consider making matching dog collars?

We would love to make some stretch goals to accommodate both of these suggestions.

We will officially announce stretch goals once we hit our halfway point!

I actually have been working with a great company for a performance running hat made from recycled plastic bottles! Take a look at the images below and let me know what you think! (please comment below) It's super lightweight and breathes way better than I expected.

Below is how we want our branding to look. ...because we know half the pups out there prefer a run. This hat will not only be awesome in performance, but it will also make a statement for eco-friendly recycled products. We would love to hear your opinions. MSRP will be around $25 and we would offer them to our Kickstarter community for $12.  We need a commitment of at least 50 hats to make this work.

Again, we are truly a bootstrap company with no marketing budget. Your comments and your sharing the campaign mean the world to us. Kickstarter is such a powerful platform to jumpstart a small business.

We also had our first earned media press release today! Ashlynn reached out and did the bulk of the interview. Lily was so kind from BusinessDen.com

Check out the article here! Please share this article in your circle of influence :) ...and comment in the article. Let them know you backed the campaign and encourage others to do the same!

That's enough for now! Back to work.

What do you think about collar and hats?
